Less scrolling.
More jumping.

Hopadoo is screen time on their feet. Two kids stand in front of your laptop's webcam and race, jumping hurdles and dodging crates with their whole body, while the runners on screen copy every move. Free, with nothing to install.

Why Hopadoo

Same screen.
Different afternoon.

Kids are going to have screen time. Hopadoo makes it the kind where they're up on their feet, out of breath and laughing at each other.

An afternoon of scrolling

  • Sitting still
  • Thumbs only
  • Headphones in, on their own
  • A feed that never ends

An afternoon of Hopadoo

  • Jumping, dodging and racing
  • The whole body, not just thumbs
  • Side by side with a sibling, or with you
  • 60-second rounds with a finish line

How it works

Laptop out.
Kids up.

No console, no controllers, no downloads. If your laptop has a webcam, you already own everything you need.

Open it on a laptop

Put it on a table or TV stand, open hopadoo.app and allow the camera. That's the whole install.

Step back

Two kids side by side, 2 to 3 metres from the screen. The kid on the left runs the left track, the kid on the right runs the right.

Race!

Jump the hurdles, step sideways for coins. Rounds last 60 seconds. Most coins wins, then everyone demands a rematch.

The clever bit

Your kids are
the controller.

They move, and the runner copies. The webcam finds shoulders, hips and feet many times a second, right on your laptop. No suits, no sensors and no controllers to lose down the back of the sofa.

  • JumpClears the hurdles.
  • Step left or rightDodges the crates and grabs the coins.
  • Raise a handCatches stars in no-jumping mode. Made for flats with neighbours downstairs.

Privacy

The camera
stays home.

Hopadoo works out where arms and legs are on your laptop, then throws each video frame away. We never see your kids, and we never want to.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Kids never see a price or a shop in the game, and buying anything will always sit behind a grown-ups-only button. Read the privacy policy.

Questions

Things parents ask us.

Isn't this just more screen time?

It's screen time on their feet. They jump, dodge and race with their whole body, and rounds end after 60 seconds instead of an endless feed. We'd still rather they played outside when they can. Hopadoo is for rainy days and "I'm bored" afternoons.

Is it actually free?

Yes. The running game is free and stays free. Later there'll be an optional one-time Family Unlock for extra games. No subscriptions. See pricing

Do I need to make an account?

No. There are no accounts at all. If you ever buy the unlock, you get a key by email and that's it.

Where does the camera video go?

Nowhere. It's processed on your laptop and thrown away frame by frame. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

Will it work on our iPad?

Not yet. For now it needs a laptop or desktop with a webcam.

Who's behind this?

A small independent team. We read every email: hello@hopadoo.com
